March 31, 2021 – MUFG Innovation Partners Co., Ltd. (“MUIP”), a corporate venture capital fund and a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (“MUFG”), has recently invested in READYFOR INC. (“READYFOR”).
As Japan’s first crowdfunding platform, READYFOR is developing means of raising funds in fields where it’s difficult to raise capital with existing financial services and capitalism, mainly in NPOs, medical institutions, research fields, and regional revitalization efforts. So far, READYFOR has helped implement about 20,000 projects, totaling about 20 billion yen (as of March 29, 2021). In order for READYFOR to match more funds and activities, the company has recently received donations of 500 million yen from more than 30 companies and is building a support network that supports fundraisers throughout society.
MUIP sympathizes with READYFOR’s mission and has decided to make an investment with the intention of providing full support as a financial institution. As a CVC (Corporate Venture Capital) of MUFG, we will work with MUFG group companies to realize various collaborative projects with READYFOR in the future. Currently, we are dispatching an employee from MUFG Bank to support the company’s business growth and learn know-how.
